The First NIOSH CBRN PAPR SYSTEM
Utilizing the SafetyTech C420 PAPR Blower, the Respondertm is a belt-mounted respirator with a choice of 2 proven tight fitting facepieces in 3 sizes. The CBRN PAPR system is ideal for military and special operations personnel who need non-IDLH respiratory protection for extended periods of time.

Users may choose either Millennium® Facepiece or Ultra Elite® Facepiece. In addition to the Respondertm Cartridge, users may use the Optifilter® XL or GME Multigas HE cartridges for protection from other chemical particulates, toxic gases, and vapors.
Millennium® CBRN Facepiece
The Millennium® CBRN Facepiece is based on a highly successful military gas mask. The wearer enjoys a wide field of view and great flexibility, making it possible to safely perform any tasks required, including firing weapons. Communication is easy. The lightweight mask provides a tight seal on the face, with a nose cup for reduced fogging. The material is impermeable to chemical agents such as mustard gas (HD) providing maximum assurance to the wearer. An optional butyl-coated nylon hood provides total head protection. The mask also permits hydration after the wearer has moved to an uncontaminated area.
Ultra Elite® CBRN Facepiece
The Ultra Elite facepiece has been field-proven and trusted by first responders to provide an exceptional fit, comfort, and value. The soft black Hycar rubber mask has a centrally located inlet port and a large lens for maximum visibility. The Ultra Elite facepiece provides identical sealing surfaces for both SCBA and Gas Masks, eliminating the need for redundant fit testing. A centrally located mechanical speaking diaphragm enables clear communication while the optional ClearCommand® Amplifier offers increased communication capabilities.
Responder Cartridge
The Respondertm Cartridge is a CBRN Canister. Two are required for use with the Respondertm CBRN PAPR
Optifilter XL Cartridge
The Optifilter XL Type HE filter is a HEPA P100 particulate filter that is < 99.97% efficient against all aerosols, oily and non-oily. This filter is effective against particulates such as dusts and aerosols, but not poison gases or vapors. The Optifilter XL HE is the right choice for dust filled environments.
PAPR GME Multi-Gas HE
The PAPR Multi-gas HE is a combination cartridge that contains the P100 filter and also a bed of activated carbon to absorb poison gases and vapors. The cartridge will filter out a broad spectrum of agents such as: acid gases including chlorine, sulfur dioxide, and chlorine dioxide, as well as ammonia, formaldehyde, and organic vapors. Choose the PAPR GME Multigas HE cartridge for OSHA regulated chemicals with concentrations greater than the TLV.
